Sifu Frank Jones briefly trained in another style of Wing Chun in early 1993 before he was introduced to T’ai Chi master Debby Gordon of Cheng Man-ch’ing style, and Wing Tsun Sifu Keith Sonnenberg. The level of knowledge and skill the two had immediately impressed Sifu Jones, and he signed up for their next available class offerings at Maricopa Community College. Over the next 3 years he never missed a class or opportunity to train. And eventually began teaching T’ai Chi and Wing Tsun in the non-credit department at the college, and at several city Park and Recreation departments in the valley. And eventually became an adjunct faculty instructor for the Mesa Community and Glendale Community Colleges in the Fitness and Wellness department.
During the 1990s, Sifu Frank Jones took private training with Sifu Sonnenberg and he participated in local seminars by advanced Wing Tsun masters. He even had his own working group of students whom he taught in Mesa near U.S. 60 and Country Club.
After taking some time off from public teaching and formal training during the early and late 2000’s to focus on career and family goals, he is now helping Sifu Sonnenberg with teaching classes as a certified 2nd Level Technician of the IWTA-NAS at the Gilbert Wing Tsun branch location.
He traveled to Europe several times between 1998 and 2001. He has been to the German headquarters of the European Wing Tsun Organization for training as well as visiting numerous WT schools in Europe and the UK. And most recently he visited the Korean Wing Tsun branch in Seoul.
