Our trial lessons are 30 – 40 minutes long, offered in the evening time periods only. You will learn the basic setting up of the stance, basic straight-line thrusting punch, concepts and techniques for common self-defense situations and how Wing Tsun kung fu techniques deal with them. The cost is currently $25. We discount this amount from your first month’s tuition if you join within two weeks. We explain the purpose and function of each movement for modern self-defense, how it helps you physically and what the exercise will do for your mind and body. Then we open it up for questions. Through the trial lesson, we might learn together what strengths and weaknesses you may have to bring to the learning Wing Tsun kung fu. It takes a few ranks before any free-hand-fighting takes place while you learn how to coordinate according to Wing Tsun concepts.
To prepare for your lesson, wear loose fitting dark trousers and a light t-shirt. Wear sneakers. The Chinese martial arts practitioners do not go barefoot. Expect to remove jewelry such as rings, neck wear and bracelets as a safety precaution like you would in any activity that requires physical contact or combat.
You can travel to mainland China or Hong Kong to learn real kungfu or you can travel to our school in Gilbert, AZ or one of our branches in 12 states to learn real kungfu. Keep in mind that real kungfu is not like your fast food martial arts schools. This will take something beyond your casual attention.
